Rome City Court was developed in 1819 but was erected by Perry County CVB in 2005. It consists of a city court and a municipal court. The court is a Criminal Justice Agency in Rome and is a Prosecution/Defense type court. It takes cases of civil lawsuits, traffic tickets, small and commercial claims, juvenile, family matters, Proceedings of landlord and tenant etc.

City Court

Rome city court gives service of traffic tickets, civil lawsuits, proceedings of landlord and tenant, claims that are commercials and less than $15000. Court fees for these types of services vary from case to case. The court operates from 8:30 am to 4:30 five days a week.

Municipal Court

Rome Municipal Court provides judicial services in Rome. It has the right to give warrants, cases to try, sentences in a traffic offense, civil and environmental cases and also control animal violations in Rome. The operation of this court begins at 10: am five days a week.

Rome City Court Cost depends upon the type of case and service you are involved in. For example, fees for small claims are between $1001 and $5000; the court fees are $20, appeal notice fee for small claims is $30, petition filing notice for landlord case court fees is $45, and Transcript and certifying paper fees is $6, jury demand fees for the civil service is $70 etc.

Small and Commercial Claims:

Rome City Court small and commercial claims can be filed from Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm by the person or any authorized agent of the plaintiff. All information like name, address, the amount for suing and the reason for the claims are provided during filing.
