Patton Village Municipal Court

Patton Village Municipal Court is a trial courthouse in the county of Montgomery, Texas. It has jurisdiction over traffic and vehicle, civil, criminal, and small claims cases. It also handles traffic tickets given by the sheriff or police of Texas on busy roads. The court hearing will be held every Tuesday at 6:00 pm, and the court date is written at the bottom of the ticket you received. Masks and proper dressing will be required during the court session.

Patton Village Municipal Traffic Court handles cases of traffic and vehicle violations. The violation includes speeding, accidents, using cell phones while driving, failing to follow a traffic signal or traffic control device, driving while intoxicated, with a suspended or no license, leaving the scene of the accident, and driving recklessly. Your driving license and driving privileges will be suspended if you do not pay the fine on time. You cannot request your license renewal until the court approves. 

How many fines a person had to pay for a traffic violation?

Patton Village Municipal Court fines depend upon the type of violation a person has committed. $239 for speeding over the limit of 1-5 mph, $504 for speeding over 30 or more significant than it, $210 for a non-accident case, $269 for an accident case, etc.

When will we write a plea and send it to the court?

A person can enter a plea and send it to the court before the court date if involved in a traffic violation. Two types of plea can be entered. You had to carefully select which plea to join and send to the court.

Plea of Guilty

If you are guilty and want to request a defensive driving or deferred disposition, you must enter a guilty plea, and the court will respond to the response and the fine you had to pay. After taking the course, your cases can be removed from the records.

Plea of Not Guilty

If you do not feel guilty, enter the plea of not guilty, and then you must appear in court on the schedule. You cannot request a defensive driving or deferred disposition in this case. This case will be held at the end of the docket. You will receive a pre-trial schedule in which you must appear with the prosecutor and submit all the witnesses. After that, a court date will be given to you, and you have to appear with the witness on that date.

Patton Village Municipal Court payments for tickets and other fines can be made in the following ways:

In-Person

A person can pay for tickets and fines by visiting the court during regular court hours and paying in cash, checks, or with a card at the counter. Convenience and other charges will be applied if you make payment with a credit card. Payment plans are also available by this court.

Online

A person can pay online using the court’s online payment link: https://www.trafficpayment.com/. Enter the ticket or citation number and pay the fine. Service fees will be applied in this method.

Mail

A Person can send a certified check or money order to the court’s mailing address. The address is 16940 Main St, Patton Village, TX 77372, United States. Cash or personal checks are not acceptable in the mail; only certified checks or money orders are accepted.

Phone

Payment can also be made using the card on the phone by dialing 1(800) 444-1187. Charges are applied in this method.

How to get a marriage license?

Patton Village Municipal Court’s marriage license is obtained from the clerk’s office and given by Montgomery County. The fee for a marriage license is $55. The couple’s age must be 18+. If someone is under 18, written consent from parents, guardians, and the judge is mandatory. To get the certification, the couple had to submit a marriage form with an original sealed birth certificate issued by the state, photo ids like a driver’s license, Passport, or anything that could prove their identity. All documents must be in English. The application form is available at the clerk’s office. If this is anyone’s second marriage, a divorce paper or spouse death certificate must be required at the time of registration. All the documents must be in English. Appearance is mandatory when you fill out the form; provide the social security number to the clerk after filling out the form. If anyone wants the copies, fill out the certificated copy of the marriage license request, and submit it to the court. If you wish, the Marriage ceremony will be held in court, but first, you must make an appointment. What is the role of the clerk?

Patton Village Municipal Court clerk’s role is to maintain each case file and receive and handle payment and fines. The clerk’s office is the center of town business and the primary source of information regarding the town. They are responsible for the maintenance of all Official Town Records and the issuance of various licenses. They are an agent of licensing and custodians of the town records. They provide marriage licenses, birth and death certificates, permits, etc.
